ISSUES

Education
Delaware needs to make a commitment to its future and that begins with education. We need to empower parents and teachers to lead the way to positive change in education. Parents deserve options and accountability for their child’s education. That belief has led Mike to be heavily involved in the Delaware charter school movement, including leading the effort to bring a new charter school to the Pike Creek area.
Jobs
Over 26,533 Delawareans are unemployed. That’s every man, women, and child in the entire city of Newark. This is an unacceptable statistic. We need to create a friendly and nurturing environment for business and allow them to expand and create jobs for our Delawareans. Through his work with the City of Newark, University of Delaware, and New Castle County Chamber of Commerce, Mike has been at the forefront of innovative efforts to bring new jobs to our area.
Economic Development
Delaware needs to create an environment that promotes business launch, growth and success. Whether its infrastructure, vacant parcels, community amenities or regulations, Delaware needs to change the way we think of economic development, how it’s done and how our state will stay ahead of the competitive curve. We must work together to make Delaware a great place to work, live and play.
